This free, all-ages event features free welcome bags to the first 500 guests; informational tables and demonstrations from area businesses, organizations, agencies & community groups; door prizes; 50/50 split raffle; a blood drive with American Red Cross; kids' zone and children's safety resources; new mattress sale fundraiser; refreshment sales to benefit youth groups; health screenings; rummage sale; entertainment and more. In lieu of admission, donations of non-perishable food items will be collected for the Tonawanda Salvation Army Food Pantry.

Ape-ril Weekend
Meet the Zoo's gorillas, and learn what makes each one of them unique. The day's activities include keeper talks, enrichment and crafts. Since recycling cell phones benefits gorillas in the Congo by decreasing the demand for coltan mining, each visitor who donates an old cell phone will receive a $1 discount off regular Zoo admission per phone.

The Buffalo Shuffle
'The Buffalo Shuffle' every Monday night at The Tralf Music Hall will showcase the development and foundation of the Buffalo style of traditional rhythm and blues. Musicians young and old are invited to take part in the ongoing development of the Buffalo Sound. The house band each Monday will feature local Buffalo musicians Doug Yeomans, Mick Hayes, Pete Holquin, Jim Ehinger, Steve Sadoff, and Al Monti with special guest musicians weekly.
